The history of Reedville Christian Baptist begins more than 75 years ago when Asa Hay, and a group of men formed the church. It was organized as a community church, serving as a place of worship throughout the area. Reedville joined the Christian Baptist Association in 1934. For a brief period in the 1940's no services were held due to lack of attendance. This lack of attendance naturally caused a lack of funds. With no money, the remaining members of the church had no choice but to quit having service. After a short time with no services, the church was reorganized on 8/9/1946. At this time the church began new membership. Dewey Ison, Virgil Rogers, Ephraim Lucas, Virginia Lucas, and Edgar Rogers were the first to take membership at the reorganization. Virginia Lucas was voted as pastor at this time. Throughout the late 1940's, the church continued to add new membership. As the old saying goes, "The rest is history." Momentum began to build, and the church was moving forward.

(Asa Hay- One of the founding members of the church)
It's hard to imagine life without our church family. That's why we thank God that those men listened to the call to start the church. We have seen many people saved, people called into ministries, and true heroes of the faith. The Lord has blessed us throughout the years, and we thank God for that. We have seen a growth in the past couple of years that has been astonishing. This is nothing we take credit for, because we want everything to point to Christ. Thank you Lord for your blessings.
(Pastor Bryan Whitt)
Bryan Whitt is the current pastor of Reedville Christian Baptist. Bryan has served in this position for nearly 30 years. He was elected in August 1980. Under his leadership, the church has grown into what it is today. We thank God for his stewardship, and his ability to lead the flock.

foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
